Nait Biting

I’ve been biting my nails since I was three years old. I’m now 52.

What Didn't Work
  • For the past 14 years I’ve worn artificial nails, but it didn’t really help. I’d bite the polish, break the acrylic, and the habit never stopped. It was painful and unpleasant.
  • I tried criticizing myself - that didn’t help.
  • Plastic covers on my nails didn’t help.
  • Bitter solutions and gloves didn’t help either.

Then I found the SoloUno app.

Beyond the reminders and the technical tools, it offers emotional support.

I’ve now gone two and a half weeks without biting. I log things as they happen, in the moment, and the app has helped me notice when I’m tense, impatient, or under pressure.

Learning to Recognize Anxiety

For years I thought I bit my nails because I was insecure or jealous. What I’ve learned is that it’s not about that at all. For me, the habit is rooted mainly in tension and anxiety. On the outside I don’t seem like an anxious person, but apparently I carry it quietly.

I’m learning to recognize it - and to be more accepting of it.

The app is simple and easy to use, and it gives me exactly what I need.

I truly wanted to stop biting, and somehow this arrived at just the right moment. No therapy, no long process - it just worked for me
