Hair Pulling
Two Years of Awareness

I am 45 years old and pulling my hair since the age of 12.

After two years of psychological therapy I understand the disorder, and what helps me stop.

There is nothing that is 100%, but I reached a very high level of awareness.

Awareness Wasn't Enough

I know exactly what my triggers are, when and why I pull, and what makes me stop.

I decided to try the solouno app rather late, because I didn’t really understand how it could benefit  me.

Awareness does not necessarily affect the urge to pull, and I continue even when I understand exactly what I am doing.

But!!!!

Here is something I did not expect - the very existence of the app and the commitment to report in it affected me positively.

The Commitment to Report

The act of going in and tracking the pulling, down to the number of hairs affects me deeply.

Because I don’t want to make such a report, the thought of having to track makes me not pull!

I can still play with my hair, still find the “right hair,” but not pull it, so that I won’t have to report.

I have periods of months without pulling - everything depends on what is happening in my life. The point for me is that the app has a positive effect at the moment when my hands are playing with my hair.

Why Tracking Works For Me

I emphasize this because it is really important - I do not pull in order not to report.

That is the advantage of the app for me.
