"Every time the urge comes, I open an urge session - and usually in less than 10 seconds it passes."

"After about two very successful months, from the moment I downloaded the app I stopped the habit completely. I'm getting better every day"

"After the first week using the app, I started seeing a change in my face. The redness decreased significantly, and my motivation rose a lot"

"Thanks to SoloUno, I've been able to reduce my pulling even during fairly busy periods. I think this approach works because it's built on many small successes, and that's exactly what the app emphasizes."

"For the past 14 years I’ve worn artificial nails, but it didn’t really help. I’d bite the polish, break the acrylic, and the habit never stopped. Then I found the SoloUno app."

"I do not pull in order not to report The very existence of the app and the commitment to report in it affected me positively."

"It helped me get out of the loop. At the moment I am already up to 60 days without pulling."

"I smoked for 56 years and 3 months, and I've now stopped. SoloUno gave me a clear framework that helped turn my decision to quit into actual action."

1 - Raise your awareness and monitor the habit
An optional first step in the app is to simply log the habit as it occurs, raising your awareness of it in the moment. Each time you log, you can add the situation you were in, the emotion you felt, and any additional notes. After a week or two, you'll be able to see your habit patterns and top triggers.

2 - Try to reduce/avoid the habit when possible
Some people prefer to start with reducing/avoiding right away, and that's totally fine - it depends on your energy, motivation, and how much effort you're ready to put in day-to-day. The idea is to open pull-free challenges throughout your day. A challenge can run for 1 hour, 3 hours, or until 9PM. During that window, you take on greater responsibility to resist pulling when you notice the urge starting.

3 - Learn to embrace your urge
We see every urge as an opportunity. When one arises, try an urge-session: a 1-minute guided mindfulness exercise. Instead of resisting the urge, focus on it - how does it feel, and where do you feel it in your body? Sometimes just observing it takes the sting out.

Start a habit-free streak and try to keep it alive - the app checks in with you every day to help you stay accountable and motivated.

Start a habit-free challenge and earn a 💎 for every habit-free hour

Log your habit whenever it happens. Capture the situation, emotion, urge level, habit count, and notes. This simple act can itself help reduce the habit.

Uncover your top triggers. Once you know yours, you can start making small changes that have a big impact.

Answer one simple question every evening: how much did the habit occur today? It takes just a few seconds, and doing it daily builds a picture of your progress.

Most habit apps assume you can just stop. With BFRBs, it's rarely that simple.
We know this from personal experience, and it's why SoloUno isn't built around quitting cold turkey - it's built around creating habit-free periods when you can, and reducing the habit as much as possible the rest of the time. The goal is small, daily wins that make the process feel manageable, motivating, and even rewarding.
While SoloUno was built with BFRBs in mind, it can be used for any negative behavior or habit you want to change. That said, the app does not constitute medical advice and is not a substitute for professional treatment. For any health-related condition or addiction, we recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

SoloUno was built to support the kind of daily practice that CBT and HRT therapy rely on: tracking your habit, logging triggers, and building awareness between sessions. Over time, the app analyzes your habit patterns and helps you uncover your most common triggers, situations, and emotions — giving you rich, real data to bring into your therapy sessions and discuss with your therapist.
